Overview
Oklahoma Christian Academy (OCA) purchased 4.7 acres across the street from its existing campus with one goal in mind: create dedicated athletic facilities designed specifically for its students.
Previously, the school shared gym space and lacked on-site practice fields. As programs grew and student participation increased, OCA recognized the need for a purpose-built sports complex that could support long-term athletic development while strengthening school identity.
AMMP Studio partnered with OCA to create a comprehensive master plan and athletic facility that gives the school room to grow, compete, and build community for generations to come.
Who is Oklahoma Christian Academy?
Oklahoma Christian Academy is a private Christian school serving students in Edmond, Oklahoma. With a mission rooted in faith, academic excellence, and character development, OCA is committed to providing a well-rounded education that supports students spiritually, intellectually, and physically.
Athletics play an important role in that mission, fostering discipline, teamwork, leadership, and school pride. The new sports complex represents an investment not just in facilities, but in the future of OCA’s student-athletes and campus culture.
The Challenge
OCA had vision, but no dedicated space.
Without practice fields or a standalone gym, athletic programs operated within shared environments that limited scheduling flexibility and program expansion. The opportunity to purchase land across the street from campus opened the door to something much larger: a fully integrated sports master plan designed specifically for OCA.
This project required:
Coordinated master planning across 4.7 acres
Indoor and outdoor athletic facility integration
Phased development strategy aligned with fundraising
Collaboration with consultants, civil engineers, and city planning officials
A design that reflected OCA’s long-term growth vision

The Strategic Approach
Long-Term Partnership
AMMP Studio has an established relationship with OCA and serves as a trusted, on-call design partner. That history created a strong foundation of trust and shared excitement for this opportunity.
This was not a transactional project. It was a collaborative effort built on long-term alignment.
Comprehensive Master Planning
Rather than designing a single building, AMMP developed a full campus sports strategy across the site.
The 28,000-square-foot indoor facility will include:
- Indoor baseball practice, infield, and batting cages
- Weight room and strength training space
- Golf practice area with three simulators
- Multipurpose gym for basketball and cheer
The outdoor components will include:
- Baseball field
- Practice/play field
- Walking track
- Tennis courts
- Concession stand
Every element was considered in relation to the whole campus: circulation, parking, student flow, and long-term expansion potential.
Behind-the-Scenes Coordination
In addition to architectural and interior design services, the project required extensive coordination with:
- President Dr. Will Blanchard
- Civil engineers, Structural, & MEP Engineers
- City planning officials
- Utility consultants
- Fundraising alignment discussions
These early-stage efforts ensure the project moves forward smoothly and remains positioned for successful construction.
Scope of Work
